Q: What's the evidence you are successful?
A: As the web site becomes better known, the number of hits is increasing more rapidly. The feedback received from the organisations featured in the videos is also very positive.

    Q: What makes this a male-friendly service?
A: Because men often have greater trouble adapting to retirement, the demonstration of interesting activities they can do after they finish work can encourage them more than women to get off the couch and into an active retirement. The videos are designed to appeal to all retirees, but, because they are presented by a man, they can seem more appropriate to men.

Q: What's the issue your project aims to solve?
A: Retirees often don’t know what to do with their new-found time. Life can become mundane unless the retiree takes action to avoid it.
Men can have more problems than women in retirement, in part because their identity is more closely tied to their careers. While employed, they develop a strong routine that brings self-esteem and a sense of purpose.
These can be maintained after retirement if the retiree is open to new ideas. There are lots of activities beyond lawn bowls and cards to occupy and challenge a person. Whether they be volunteering, exploring new or old environments, or learning new skills, challenges for everyone are out there and easy to access.
This video project shows how people can become involved in various activities across Australia.
