Join us at the 10th Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Male Health Convention

The 10th Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Male Health Convention will be held at the Brisbane Showgrounds from 22-23 October 2025.

Held as part of the 13th National Men’s Health Gathering, this important event brings together leaders, practitioners, researchers, Elders, and grassroots men’s health advocates from across the country.

First held at Ross River in 1999, the Convention continues the work of a national movement committed to empowering, strengthening and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander males and their health and wellbeing.

This year marks more than 25 years since that historic gathering, and this Convention will honour that milestone by “celebrating our achievements, recognising our champions, and continuing the journey together. What began as a bold step forward has grown into a vital national platform for knowledge-sharing, cultural leadership and collective action.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr ‘Uncle’ Mick Adams, Research Fellow Newcastle University
  • Jason Bonson, National Project Coordinator, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Male Health, Flinders University
  • Jack Bullman, Founder and CEO of Mibbinbah Spirit Healing
  • Dr Clinton Schultz, Director, First Nations Strategy and Partnerships, and Head of First Nations Research, Black Dog Institute

Jason Bonson, Chair of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Male Health Reference Group for the Gathering, said:

“The 13th National Men’s Health Conference and the 10th Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Male Health Convention represent a powerful coming together of voices, knowledge, and leadership from across the country.

"This joint gathering not only celebrates the progress made in men’s health nationally but also honours the unique strength, resilience, and cultural leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander males.

Together, we are shaping a future where research, policy, and community-led solutions work hand-in-hand to improve health outcomes and empower our men to thrive — as individuals, as leaders, and as change-makers within their families and communities.”
