Men's Health Awards 2020

Nominations have closed for the 2020 Men's Health Awards.

The shortlisted nominations will be available for voting from Tuesday 9 June. 

This year’s National Men’s Health Awards will be announced during Men's Health Week (Monday 15 June to Sunday 21 June)

There are five categories in this year’s awards.

Local Men's Health Hero Award 2020

This award is for an individual, male or female, who has made a significant difference by taking action to improve the lives and health of men and boys at a local level.

Best Men's Lived Experience Speaker 2020

The award is open to any man who has helped improve the lives and health of men and boys by sharing his own personal health story as a lived experience speaker or consumer health advocate.

Best Men's Group or Program Award 2020

The award for Best Men's Group or Men's Program Award 2020 is open to any men's health group, large or small, who stands out for the way they are working to create a healthier future for men and boys.

Women Working in Men’s Health Award

The award is open to women (or groups of women) working in the men’s health sector, who have made a signification contribution to improving the lives and health of men and boys.

Significant Response to COVID-19

We are seeking nominations for any individual, group or program that has responded effectively to the impact of COVID-19 on the lives and health of men and boys. This can include people on the frontline, working with men at risk of coronavirus, through to groups responding to the social and mental health impacts of the pandemic and people adapting to the challenge of social distancing by delivering initiatives online.

 

Please note: Previously listed Men's Health Equity Award nominations will be included within the first three awards for consideration.

    Sam Parker, founder of the Grab Life by the Balls Movement. Grab Life by the Balls – Absolute legend!

    Sam is championing the positive and proactive benefits of mateship for men’s mental health. Grab Life By The Balls creates events for blokes, from all walks of life to connect, hang out and be themselves. Sam created the movement as an informal catch up in Mooloolaba approximately 3 years ago and has since grown the reach of the movement to service 11 communities across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria and still growing.

    I nominate Young Blood- Men’s Health Matters

    As a mother of a young man (20) and a person generally interested in mental health, this podcast really hits the mark.
    Presented extremely professionally in a non-threatening environment and with content that is topical, relevant and often surprisingly uplifting, it is a must-listen. It is world-class in production values and is setting the benchmark for mental health podcasts.

    This program and all of it many aspects has already helped many men of all ages including myself. It is a very well put together program that helps Men have the difficult conversations and challenges the the status quo. And it does this though offering many different platforms catering to all.

    I am proud to be apart of The Man That Can Project. Having went through a breakup it lead me to Lachlan and I am nothing but grateful for the support and opportunity to work with him. I have a new found confidence and maturity which I have gained which excites me moving forward. I cant wait to continue working among The Man That Can Project moving forward!
