It’s a Blokes Lunch is a men's health initiative that raises awareness of men's health issues, in particular, mental health, cancer, and preventative heath and vital funds for health services, health education, and health programs for men within the local community. It's a Blokes Lunch has welcomed high profile guest speakers including Professor Dr. Simon Rosenbaum, Dr. Tim Robards, Scott Evennett, Shaun Timmins, Doug Bollinger, Chief Brabon, Sasha Mielczerek, Jamie Soward, Scott Henderson, Matt Elliott, Dr. Zac Seidler, and Dr Maneesh Khanna to share their stories and inspire conversation amongst the 200+ attendees. Since it's inception, It's a Blokes Lunch has strategically partnered and closely works with non- for-profit, community, and charitable organisations passionate about men’s health such as Top Blokes Foundation, The Black Dog Institute, Beyond Blue, Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Movember Foundation, and Men's Shed. With the aim to provide financial support and resource assistance towards the creation, facilitation, and continuation of men’s health services within the local community. These diverse partnerships we have seen both the launch and support of several men’s health initiatives, services and programs within the local community; Creation and facilitation of the Junior Blokes mentoring program for young men within primary and high schools within the community, the establishment of Suicide Prevention Trial to support men within the community, funding towards the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing Service within the local community, the re-establishment of the Illawarra Prostate Cancer Support Group for Survivors and their partners, creation and facilitation of the Blokes Move health programs and workshops in Men’s Sheds within the local community, creation and facilitation of It's a Blokes Chat podcast and live event, co-founder of a men's mental health social group called The Barstool Blokes, and the creation of a new men's digital health services called Blokes Health Australia.
