Leadership Update – Australian Men’s Health Forum
The Board of the Australian Men’s Health Forum acknowledges the contribution of CEO Glen Poole, who has advised the Board of his decision to step down after nine years leading the organisation.
During his time with AMHF, Glen played an important role in strengthening the visibility of men’s health issues in Australia and supporting the growth of the national men’s health sector. The Board thanks Glen for his service and commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of men and boys.
To ensure continuity of leadership, the Board has appointed Filipe Gama e Silva as Interim Chief Executive Officer, seconded from Mentoring Men.
Filipe is the Chief Executive Officer of Mentoring Men and currently serves as Vice President of the AMHF Board. In this interim role he will oversee day-to-day operations and support the organisation through the leadership transition while the Board undertakes a recruitment process for a permanent CEO.
Mentoring Men has generously supported this arrangement to ensure continuity for the sector during this transition period.
AMHF remains firmly focused on its mission as the national peak body for men’s health. Our work connecting the sector, supporting members, and advocating for better outcomes for men and boys continues. AMHF will also continue progressing its national priorities, including strengthening collaboration across the men’s health sector, supporting evidence-informed policy development, and advocating for improved outcomes for men and boys.
AMHF remains committed to working closely with members, researchers, service providers, and government partners to advance a coordinated national approach to men’s health.
The Board will shortly commence a national recruitment process to appoint a permanent Chief Executive Officer.
The Board thanks our members, partners and supporters for their ongoing commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of men and boys across Australia.
