Movember men’s health campaign asks people to be part of the solution
This week, Movember released a comprehensive report on ‘The Real Face of Men’s Health’, sparking further discussion about the state of men’s health in Australia and worldwide.
While the details of the report are undoubtedly are being scrutinised by the men’s health sector, a public-facing campaign developed by the charity’s in-house team was released to support the key message of the report: men’s health doesn’t just affect men, it impacts everyone.
Relationships, familes and the broader community benefit when men thrive, but there is a negative ripple effect when men are unwell and unsupported
The Australian Men's Health Forum also supports this sentiment, stating that we can create a healthier future for everyone by improving the lives and health of men and boys in Australia.
The new Movember campaign shows people who are affected by men’s health, as well as a myriad of men and boys at different ages.
“The Real Face of Men's Health represents a new frontier for Movember, showing the critical importance of our mission and advocacy for men’s health. By bringing together diverse voices and experiences, we aim to ignite a global movement that drives men's health policy change and fosters healthier communities worldwide," Movember's CMO Jeremy Macvean said.
"It's not the typical men's health campaign you might expect," says Sophia Bell, Movember's creative strategist and the head of the brand.
“The Real Face brings new perspectives on men’s health from the families and communities who care for men. Whether that’s a partner who supports a man through cancer and feels the weight of it or the friendships rocked when they lose a man to suicide. Those ripple effects – the often-overlooked consequences of men’s health – are at the heart of this campaign.”
Movember launched the campaign globally across digital, social media, and broadcast channels. It calls on people to add their personal stories and "be part of the solution" by advocating for policy and health system reform on its website.
