Wellman Tour for Far North Queensland

On three consecutive nights in far north Queensland later this month, men over the age of 18 are invited to enjoy a free night in celebration of mateship at the 2019 Wellman Tour.

The focus of the three-hour events at Cairns, Port Douglas and the Tablelands, is to reinforce the importance of men getting together and supporting one another.

This is also one of the hallmarks of the Better4Men campaign, which addresses the need for social connection.

The evidence that having high-quality relationships and feeling socially connected to the people in your life reduces your risk of death and disease is well established. Around 1 in 4 Australian report poor social networks.

The Wellman Tours  features comedian Mark McConville, founder of the Laughter Clinic, leading North Queensland performer Drewboy and Grant Westthorp, CEO of the Men’s Resource Centre and Creator of the Wellman App.

Men Care Too founder Greg Smith will also address challenges faced by men in caring roles

Sponsored by Health Reimagined, the Wellman Tours are open to everyone 18+ years of age, and women are also encouraged to attend.

The Men’s Resource Centre is a not-for-profit community organisation focused on raising awareness of men’s physical, mental and social well-being.

Established in 2003, it seeks to proactively proactively promote and facilitate the prevention of disease, both physical and mental in males, by delivering services aimed at self-responsibility.

Its mission is to promote physical, mental, social wellbeing and preventative strategies to all men and its vision, “To assist all men to live longer, happier and more fulfilling lives.”
