Applications Open for New AMHF CEO

Following a significant leadership transition at the Australian Men's Health Forum, we're now searching for a permanent Chief Executive Officer to lead the national peak body for men's health into its next chapter.

A moment of transition

Earlier this year, the AMHF Board acknowledged the contribution of outgoing CEO Glen Poole, who stepped down after nine years leading the organisation. During his tenure, Glen played an important role in strengthening the visibility of men's health issues in Australia and supporting the growth of the national men's health sector. The Board thanks Glen for his service and deep commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of men and boys.

To ensure continuity of leadership, the Board appointed Filipe Gama e Silva — CEO of Mentoring Men and Vice President of the AMHF Board — as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Mentoring Men generously supported this arrangement to keep the organisation on track during the transition, and we thank them for that partnership.

AMHF remains firmly focused on its mission. We continue to connect the sector, support members, and advocate for better outcomes for men and boys, including advancing national priorities around evidence-informed policy, cross-sector collaboration, and improved health outcomes.

Now, we're looking for our next leader.

Chief Executive Officer — Australian Men's Health Forum

This is a rare opportunity to lead Australia's national peak body for men's health at a pivotal moment for the sector.

As CEO, you will represent AMHF at the national level, working alongside members, researchers, service providers, and government partners to advance a coordinated approach to men's health in Australia. You'll build on a strong foundation and help shape what comes next.

We're looking for a values-driven leader with:

  • A genuine passion for men's health and gender-informed policy
  • Proven experience in executive leadership, ideally in the non-profit, health, or advocacy sector
  • Strong relationship-building skills across government, community, and research partners
  • A track record of organisational stewardship, stakeholder engagement, and strategic vision

What the new Equimundo report tells us about the future of men’s health in Australia
Our sector is being asked to respond to complex, national issues — suicide prevention, isolation, fatherhood, violence prevention, help-seeking, online harms, workplace culture and chronic disease — through short-term, fragmented and often under-resourced models. That is not sustainable.
