Presenter: Stew Greig, Stroke survivor and StrokeSafe Speaker
This presentation will provide the following information.
- What stroke is – What happens when someone is having a stroke and the different types of stroke.
- How to recognise the signs of stroke – Learn the vital F.A.S.T. signs of stroke.
- What to do during a stroke emergency – Knowing when to call triple zero (000).
- How to reduce your risk of stroke – Understand and reduce the risk of stroke.
The talk is delivered by a trained StrokeSafe Speaker from the Stroke Foundation, with experience in delivering life-saving messages about stroke.
More about Stew Greig
Stew Greig is a 44-year-old dad of two amazing kids from Werribee. He's worked in local government for over 20 years and is passionate about the work he does alongside the community to progress Reconciliation. Stew had a Stroke in November 2020 and, fortunately, due to identifying the signs of Stroke, he was able to raise the alarm and get to hospital quick enough to receive the treatment he needed to dissolve the clot in his brain. Stew Grieg is proud to be a StrokeSafe speaker for the Stroke Foundation and is committed to sharing his story to raise awareness about stroke and stroke prevention.
