Mongrels Men is a community-based mental health charity dedicated to delivering non-clinical and prevention-focused mental health programs. Our mission is to promote, prevent, reduce, and control mental health illnesses, disorders, and suicide.
We're inviting sporting clubs, associations and communities in the Tweed Shire region to attend our FREE Mental Health Response Workshop to help develop a ‘Mental Health Response Ready’ sporting community.
What you'll learn:
- Understand common mental health illnesses and disorders
- Identify warning signs and symptoms of poor mental health
- Develop techniques for discussing mental health issues and suicide
- Support themselves and others experiencing poor mental health
Accreditation and Certification:
The workshop provides a 2-Year Certification from:
- Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) for CPD points
- Fitness Australia for Continuing Education Credits (CEC)
- Australian Counselling Association (ACA) for Ongoing Professional Development
Catering: A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Bring a Water Bottle.
Restrictions; This workshop is designed for adults over 18 years old.
The 'Mental Health Response Ready' program is funded by a grant received from Tweed Shire Council.
