Movember to fund Indigenous Men’s Health Initiatives

Movember is seeking expressions of interest for its new Indigenous Men’s Health: A Community Empowerment Initiative that will provide annual funding of up to AUD $700,000 per applicant for five years.

The grants will go to Indigenous organisations to help them design and deliver community-owned and led strategies with the power to improve the social and emotional (SEWB) of their men and boys.

“Community-led thinking is what we’re after,” says Movember, “along with building our own understanding of which strategies work.

“If your Indigenous-led organisation – or one you know – is ready to improve the SEWB of the community it serves, we want to hear from you.”

To be shortlisted for a grant, the community that an organisation serves must have a population under 10,000, with a large percentage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and boys.

The organisation’s program or initiative must achieve one more of the following:

  • Elevate connection to and pride in culture, family/kin, community, and Country/Land through traditional practices.
  • Embrace cultural knowledge and engagement in cultural practices.
  • Elevate social, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing.
  • Strengthen resilience.
  • Enhance health literacy.
  • Improve access to culturally appropriate spaces and services that support SEWB.

Expressions of interest are due by 31 May 2025 at 5pm PDT

Lodgement of EOIs will be via Movember’s online grant application portal.

Annual funding of up to AUD$300,000 per applicant is available for three years to improve SEWB among Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander boys and men in Australia.
