NT grants available to support Men’s Health Week initiatives

The NT Government has re-opened applications for grants worth up to $5000 for projects that support gender equity.

The sponsorship program assists events that support gender equity, including Men’s Health Week.

In 2021, recipients of the Gender Equity and Diversity General Grants included Wagait Shire Council’s International Men’s Day Activities.

The 2022 $5000 grants will be allocated to projects that address gender inequities in two of the following areas:

  • education, employment and economic security, safety
  • safety, health and wellbeing
  • participation and representation in leadership and decision-making
  • respect and empowerment.

They are part of the Labor Government’s commitment to increase gender equality across the NT.

The Office of Gender Equity and Diversity was a sponsor of the International Men’s Day Forum on November 19, organised by Rebecca Forest, and also championed Palmerston City’s International Men’s Day Community breakfast on the day.

The Office of Gender Equity and Diversity general grants program offers two funding rounds each year. Round one is open from January to May and Round two from July to December.

Applications must be made by an NT resident if applying as an individual or an organisation based and registered in the NT.
