Time to Act on Male Suicide (TAS)

In 2022, the Australian Men's Health Forum called on the Tasmanian Government to develop an action plan to prevent male suicide.

Our report - Time To Act On Male Suicide In Tasmania - highlighted the fact that Tasmania has the highest rate of male suicide in Australia, with men accounting for 4 in 5 suicides.

In March 2023, the Tasmanian Government announced its first Suicide Prevention Implementation Plan that includes specific, funded actions to tackle male suicide.

You can find out more about this in our men's health news section

We'll be monitoring progress on male suicide prevention in Tasmania and advocating for a greater focus on men in future implementation plans.
