Understanding and addressing men's work stress

The Fathering Project presents a free webinar for Leaders, Diversity and Inclusion Managers, HR Managers and Wellbeing, People and Culture Managers hosted by The Fathering Project’s CEO Káti Gapaillard.

What the webinar will cover:

  • Learn and understand the common workplace stressors for men
  • The implications of inflexible workplaces and how this translates to employee wellbeing and productivity.
  • Actionable tips and strategies to ensure management is providing well-rounded support
  • Hear how organisations are leading the way through policies and programs

The webinar will explore the topic in the context of fathers and unpack a variety of ways leaders can support their employees who are fathers, helping to ease the stress where possible.

Dr James Brown 

James is a registered Clinical Psychologist and has been working in organisations and private practice for 18 years. He has a particular interest in assisting men relating to their psychological health and well-being. He recently completed his doctorate (PhD), investigating the importance of relationship closeness between fathers and their children, and barriers to father involvement. Currently James serves as a non-executive director on the board of The Fathering Project.

In addition to his clinical work, James is also a Clinical Educator for Southern Queensland Rural Health, as well as a supervisor and trainer. Previously James has taught in the university sector in post graduate psychology programs, and has provided professional advisory services to members of the Australian Psychological Society.

James enjoys family time with his wife Michelle and their four children. In his spare time James enjoys music, cooking, bushwalking and travel. He is a member of an award winning a ‘Capella singing group, Monday Nights.

Kym Murphy

General Manager at RoadTek, Transport and Main Roads, Kym is accountable for providing strategic leadership and direction to the RoadTek Branch. 

Kym is a passionate advocate for values-based leadership and decision-making, and has a strength for engaging with and leading people, and driving a strong performance culture in pursuit of results.
