AMHF hosts Men's Health Chats for Men's Health Week 2025

The Australian Men’s Health Forum is reprising its popular lunchtime talks throughout Men’s Health Week in 2025.

AMHF, the peak body for men’s health in Australia, recently launched the menshealthweekevents.com website to showcase Men’s Health Week events, celebrations and activity across Australia from Monday 9 June to 15 June 2025.

The Men’s Health Week chats run from 9-13 June, during the week, from 1-2pm AEST each day. They are an invitation for people to chat about men’s health in their workplaces, communities and social groups and to sign up for a series of online lunchtime chats on the following topics:

  • Prostate Cancer
  • Stroke Awareness
  • Men’s Health Facts
  • Ask a pharmacist
  • Helping Mates

Men’s Health Chat #1: Know your Prostate Cancer risk

Presenter:  Mark Jensen, Community Speaker and Manager of Life Force at PCFA (Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia).

How common is Prostate Cancer? What are the risks and symptoms? What are some of the myths about Prostate Cancer? And when should men get tested?

Mark Jensen will present some vital information that everyone needs to know about Prostate Cancer and be on hand to answer your questions. As a survivor of prostate cancer himself, and still navigating the disease, Mark believes greater awareness equals saving men’s lives.

Men’s Health Chat #2: What every man needs to know about Stroke

Presenter: Stew Greig, stroke survivor and StrokeSafe Speaker 

In Australia, nearly 500 men a week have a stroke and 80% of these strokes are preventable.

Stew Greig is a StrokeSafe speaker for the Stroke Foundation, who shares his story to raise awareness about stroke and stroke prevention.

Stew will be telling us what a stroke is, how to recognise signs of stroke, what to do during a stroke emergency and how we can reduce our risk of having a stroke.

This chat is presented by AMHF CEO Glen Poole, who believes in making the facts about Men’s Health simple and accessible to everyone.

This talk looks at men’s health in general, actions to improve our individual health and ways to support the men in our lives to stay healthy.
