Chew the Fat BBQ roadshow

Save Our Mates is back with a six-stop Chew the Fat BBQ social roadshow for blokes in country South Australia.

The first event is on April 22 in Freeling at the Schuster Shed from 7pm.

Save Our Mates is an early intervention men’s mental health group, “obsessed with sharing simple tools, tips and resources that blokes can use to help confront life’s challenges.”

They promote mental first aid and key pointers for men who are struggling:

  • Talk to someone
  • Start exercising
  • Look at your drug and alcohol consumption
  • Get help with your sleep

Chew the Fat socials will be hosted by a local family, typically in a large shed.

“We put on some good tucker, plenty of good beer and we share a few stories. But mostly the night is exactly what it says on the tin - a chance to catch up and 'chew the fat',” say the organisers.

The nights are free and for blokes only.

Chew The Fat will be at:

Freeling on April 22

Maitland on June 17

Nurioopta on July 15

Own on August 19

Cunliffe on September 16

Clare on October 21
