First Fathering Summit releases full agenda

The inaugural Fathering Summit on 14 March in Sydney will bring together like-minded individuals, researchers, policymakers, advocates and educators who are passionate about reshaping and redefining modern fatherhood.

Hosted by The Fathering Project, Anne Hollonds, Australia’s National Children’s Commissioner and Prof. Natasha Cabrera, a leading international researcher for fathering, will give keynote addresses.

The morning panel discussion is titled, ‘Creating a Legacy of Mental Health and Resilience in Families’, with Dr Zac Seidler, Global Director of Men’s Health at Movember, Dr Vincent Mancini, The Fathering Project Fellow, Dr Jodi Richardson, a bestselling author and educator on anxiety and wellbeing, and reality TV star Josh Waldhorn, a designer and father of two.

The afternoon panel discussion includes Professor Cabrera and Doug Taylor, CEO of The Smith Family, who will be exploring the theme, ‘Navigating disadvantage for positive child outcomes.’

This will be followed by two more panel discussions: ‘Men as caregivers’ and ‘Nurturing healthy masculinity for family wellbeing,’ with workshops held throughout the day. Also taking part on the day are Professor Michael Flood, an internationally recognized researcher on men, masculinities, and gender, and the former Commissioner of the NSW Police Force, Andrew Scipione.
