Free 12-week course for men wanting to develop positive mental health

The BeUnstoppable Foundation is offering fully funded courses for men on Developing Positive Mental Health and Mental Strength.

Starting on Tuesday, 30 April, the first course runs for 12 weeks via Zoom workshops and is designed to educate and develop awareness regarding mental health. Twenty men can participate, and further workshops will take place later in the year.

The workshops promise to equip attendees with preventative measures to take if 'adverse mental health' symptoms appear, help them develop resilience, and teach them how to overcome challenges.

Over the 12 weeks of the course, participants will work with professional coaches and certified counsellors as they learn how to build confidence and self-belief.

While the April workshops are close to being booked out, BeUnstoppable Foundation is running the men' s-only program in September on two days: Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

[There are also several courses for women-only].

The initiative has several sponsors, including NSW Health, who was instrumental in supporting the Doing it Tough website produced by the Australian Men’s Health Forum and Suicide Prevention Australia.
