Men's Sheds Week 2018 Celebrates Mateship

It's Men's Sheds week this week (Monday 24 September to Sunday 30 September). Now in its second year, the week is an opportunity to showcase the value of Men's Sheds to the world.

The official opening of Men’s Shed Week took place on Friday, at Menshed Wagga Wagga, which was voted the Shed of the Year in 2017. Throughout the week, Men's Sheds all over the country are being encouraged to hold open days and celebrations to mark the special contributions Men’s Sheds make.

The Australian Men's Sheds Association (AMSA) set up the week to help to give government, corporate partners, the media and local community an opportunity to focus on the benefits and positive contributions of Men’s Sheds. The activities that Men's Sheds engage in during the week include:

  • Promoting Men's Sheds
  • Showing appreciation for community support
  • Showcasing activities
  • Acknowledging those who have made significant contributions
  • Engaging with local health, government and community services
  • Attracting new members
