Men’s organisations join Neighbours Every Day movement
Neighbours Every Day is a Relationships Australia social connection campaign that seeks to strengthen communities and build connections between people … every day.
Neighbours are defined as anyone living in a community, “who we can connect with, share with and grow alongside.”
This 2025 theme is ‘Create, Share and Grow Belonging,” with Neighbour Day falling on the last Sunday in March (30 March) for an annual celebration of community.
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) has joined the movement, by becoming a Very Neighbourly Organisation. AMSA has 15 Neighbour Packs for Men’s Sheds interested in hosting a Shed Open Day.
As AMSA states, Men’s Sheds are a perfect example of community spaces that foster belonging and connection.
AMHF organisational member The Men’s Table has also become a Very Neighbourly Organisation, providing safe spaces for men to be together over a dinner table for meaningful conversations – and a good meal!

Nick Tebbey from Relationships Australia talked in depth about NED - Neighbours Every Day – at a special Men’s Health Connected session in 2023.
There is a direct link between the health of our social lives and the health of our personal, private lives,” he began.
“Through our relationships, we really do stand the best chance of coping,” he says. “We have seen through our services over the last three years, this relentless attack on our well-being, from COVID through to cost of living, economic uncertainties, other natural disasters. There’s so much going on out there that we have no control over, and that is really taking a toll on people’s lives.
“We’re focusing on things that we can control and how we can help people to build the sort of resilience, the support networks and the satisfaction with their lives that will help them as best as possible.”
