Men’s Shed Week 2025 to Celebrate “Building Healthy Communities”

Men’s Shed Week 2025 will shine a light on the power of connection, purpose and community when it returns from Monday 8 September to Saturday 13 September – the week following Father’s Day.

The annual event aims to raise awareness of Men’s and Community Sheds across Australia, showcasing their role as vital hubs that deliver programs, activities and social connections to improve health, wellbeing and inclusivity.

This year’s theme, “Building Healthy Communities,” recognises the practical, social and wellbeing benefits sheds bring to their members, their families and the wider community.

Throughout the week, sheds nationwide are encouraged to open their doors, share their stories and invite locals – including representatives from all levels of government – to join the celebrations.

Men’s Shed Week is an opportunity to honour the grassroots contributions of shedders, raise awareness of the Men’s Shed movement, and invite more Australians to get involved – whether that be by joining, supporting, or simply learning more,” said AMSA Executive Officer David Helmers.

The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA), with the support of major partner Fair Dinkum Builds, is urging sheds to host open days, ‘Invite-a-Mate’ events or other celebrations that showcase the diversity of their members and activities.

Events can range from small gatherings to large community celebrations, with opportunities to:

  • Promote the shed locally

  • Show appreciation for community support

  • Engage with health, government and community services

  • Attract new members

  • Acknowledge key contributors

To support celebrations, AMSA is offering 25 event packs for sheds that register early. Each pack includes $100 for catering, promotional materials, bunting, flags, brochures and magazines.

Sheds wanting to participate can download the Men’s Shed Week 2025 Event Registration Form and email it to [email protected]. Packs will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

More resources, including an organisers guide, poster template and media release template, are available on the AMSA website.
