An A-Z of Organisations Supporting Men and Boys Part 4

In the run up to International Men's Day (IMD) and throughout November we are highlighting 100+ groups around Australia doing great work to support men and boys.

The theme for IMD 2025 in Australia is Supporting Men and Boys. Help us grow our list of great organisations supporting men and boys in Australia to 200+. If you know of any groups that you think we should add to our list email: [email protected]

Men's Health and Wellbeing WA is the peak body representing and promoting the health and wellbeing of boys and men in Western Australia. It was formed in 1997 as the Men’s Health Independent Advisory Network and gradually evolved into Men’s Health and Wellbeing WA. The group connects member organisations across the state, provides resources for service providers and consumers, and seeks to influence men’s health policy, funding, strategy, and initiatives. A key resource is the comprehensive The Bloke's Book, listing a range of services and providers for men and boys.

Men's Health Down Under is a one stop shop for men’s urological health issues operated by a team of specialised men’s health pharmacists. The organisation was established by ACT pharmacist Brad Butt in 2013 to address the growing need for men to access professional expertise without any embarrassment or privacy concerns. Its secure website allows men to access health information, or to organise a consultation, wherever they live.is

Men's Health Education Rural Van (Mherv) travels through regional NSW giving men’s health checks in a custom-built caravan. A dedicated registered nurse offers free health screenings to regional and rural men. Of the 20,500+ men who have been tested since 2017, 8,100 needed treatment and 615 were in immediate danger of stroke or heart attack.

Men's Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation provides vital support for men, families, and communities across the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Based in Broome, its 35 dedicated staff deliver culturally strong, holistic, and trauma-informed programs built on over 20 years of service. They offer counselling, youth suicide prevention, family violence reduction, prisoner support, peer mentoring, and wellbeing-focused case management for men with complex needs.

Men's Resources Tasmania is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation promoting the wellbeing of men and boys across Tasmania. Established in 2014 after seven years as an informal network, MRT provides a male voice in community and policy discussions, delivers workshops, consultations, and public events, and shares research to improve outcomes for men and boys.

Men's Sheds are a great Australian success story in men’s health. The Shed movement started in the mid-90s and there are now more sheds in Australia than there are outlets of McDonalds. Known for addressing social isolation in older men in rural communities, Sheds are now central to improving men’s health in Australia, and can be found in rural, regional and urban settings - open to men of all ages and backgrounds. Sheds are known for providing mateship and a sense of purpose for their members, as well as connecting them to community projects and health-promotion initiatives.

Men's Walk and Talk Hervey Bay promotes and support men's physical, social and mental health through physical activities and social interaction. They host regular walks and social events, encouraging participation of community and charitable events. Enthusiastic organiser Shane Bradbury notes the number of walks each week, now close to 500.

Men's Wellbeing Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting men and their loved ones through safe, inclusive spaces and programs. Established over 25 years ago, it has grown to support more than 2,000 men across south-east Queensland, Northern NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. Its flagship Common Ground 9-week course offers men a chance to explore their challenges and build connection, while regular Men’s Groups provide ongoing peer support.

MenAble Australia is a regional Western Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving men’s health and wellbeing. Formed by the local community to tackle the challenges men and boys face in staying active, connected and mentally resilient, MenAble has been operating since 2019 under the Man Walk Australia banner. The group launched WA’s first regional Man Walk and has expanded its outreach through initiatives that build social connection and promote healthier lives. Its activities include large community walks, wellbeing events, networks for new dads, school programs, documentary screenings and campaigns to combat family and domestic violence.

Mengineering is a Canberra-based project focused on creating opportunities for fathers and sons to interact and mix, spend quality time together, try new things, learn new skills, develop positive communication and social skills and strengthen relationships. Run by the charity The Right Direction Australia, Mengineering’s initiatives include running Father & Son Superhero Cartooning Workshops in local primary schools.
