Live recording of next Over The Fence Conversations podcast

The fourth episode of the Over the Fence Conversations podcast will be recorded live on September 11th from 9:30am - 10:45am (AEST).

Over the Fence Conversations is a series of insightful conversations that dive deep into men’s lived experience of suicide and mental health challenges. It is produced by the leaders of the National Men's Lived Experience of Suicide Network Jonathan Bedloe, representing the Australian Men's Health Forum, and Tynan Narywonczk from Roses in the Ocean.

This month's podcast guest is Ryan Hassan, co-founder and CEO at The Centre for Healing.

Ryan suffered from anxiety for as long as he could remember and that manifested in many destructive patterns throughout his life, culminating in a hardcore drug addiction to methamphetamine and GHB. Whilst this addiction took everything material from his life, it was also Ryan's greatest blessing. He was forced to face up to his mental and emotional demons, and he overcame not only the addiction but also his anxiety to feel peace for the first time. This led him to completely immerse himself in how people end up in emotional pain and how it’s possible for anyone to be free from it.

He started the Centre for Healing, to help people who have had similar experiences, and is now a qualified Trauma Therapist, helping people get past their addictions and mental health issues with an approach that blends various modalities around trauma and alternative healing with more traditional counselling & coaching.

There will be time during the podcast to ask Ryan questions.

The podcast comes one day after World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September and before R U OK? Day on 12 September.

The Men's Lived Experience of Suicide Network brings together men who have lived experience of suicide together, offering a safe place to connect and explore how to tackle the high rate of suicide by men in our communities.
