Support Men’s Health This Holiday Season

As the year draws to a close and the festive season begins, the Australian Men’s Health Forum (AMHF) is reflecting on the important progress we’ve made together in 2024.

From advocating for better mental health support to improving health outcomes for men and boys across the country, we are proud of the strides we’ve taken.

But there’s still so much more to do.

As AMHF President Gillian Hunt recently stated in her end-of-year report, we have made substantial progress in promoting the health and wellbeing of men and boys across diverse sectors.

The popular Know Your Man Facts campaign, now with a dedicated website, is putting resources into the hands of men’s health champions with over 4000 toolkit downloads that promote health literacy for men and boys.

Our "What Works When Working With Men" webinar in partnership with Suicide Prevention Australia attracted 120+ practitioners, with 75% indicating the session would directly influence their work.

We collaborated with Anglicare and Relationships Tasmania to pilot workshops that will equip the community and social sector workers with best practices for engaging men and boys effectively.

These are just a few of the activities having an impact.

We are excited to announce the return of the National Men’s Health Gathering in 2025, which will unite a broad range of stakeholders in men’s health, including policymakers, academics, healthcare professionals, and representatives from community and voluntary sectors. The Gathering, from 22-24 October at the Brisbane Showgrounds, celebrates its 30th anniversary and marks the first in-person national conference for men’s health since the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Australia, men continue to live shorter lives on average than women, with many passing away from preventable causes. Every day, 50 men lose their lives to conditions that could be avoided with the right interventions and support.

Your support can make a meaningful difference. As a not-for-profit organisation, donations enable us to advocate for better healthcare policies, create programs that reach vulnerable men and boys, and deliver resources to communities where they’re needed most.

By contributing to AMHF, you’re helping us build a healthier future for Australian men and boys - whether it’s through raising awareness about men’s mental health, promoting physical wellness, or supporting at-risk groups like Indigenous communities and rural populations.

This holiday season, we ask you to consider making a donation to AMHF. No contribution is too small.

From all of us at AMHF, we wish you and your loved ones a Merry Xmas and a fantastic New Year. Thank you for your generosity and for being part of our mission to create a healthier Australia.

Donations can be made here. Every dollar counts.
