100 Groups Spotlighted as International Men’s Day Celebrated Nationwide

More than 100 organisations supporting men and boys across Australia were recognised during International Men’s Day 2025 through a national spotlight series hosted by the Australian Men’s Health Forum (AMHF).

The 10-part series was rolled out across AMHF’s social channels throughout November and December, aligning with the 2025 International Men’s Day theme Supporting Men and Boys. Rather than promoting a single initiative, the campaign spotlighted the everyday work being done by services and grassroots groups across the country to improve men’s health and wellbeing.

The 100+ organisations highlighted reflected the breadth of the men’s health sector, including services focused on mental health and suicide prevention, mentoring and fatherhood, social connection, cultural and community-based support, disability services and regional outreach.

Groups from every state and territory were included, reinforcing the national scope of the campaign and the shared challenges faced by men and boys regardless of location. Many of the organisations operate with limited resources and rely heavily on volunteers motivated by lived experience, community need and a commitment to helping diverse groups of men and boys.

AMHF, which hosts the International Men’s Day website in Australia and sets the national theme each year, said the campaign was designed to amplify the sector’s work.

The response to the campaign was strongly positive. Many organisations engaged with the posts through their own networks, with feedback indicating that the recognition was meaningful and timely. Several groups noted that being acknowledged helped validate their work.

Audience engagement across the series was also strong, with readers expressing appreciation for seeing the range of organisations working with men and boys, and for the positive focus on support, connection and community-led solutions.

The campaign reinforced a key message of International Men’s Day 2025: that supporting men and boys is not abstract or theoretical, but is already happening every day in local communities across Australia.

International Men’s Day is observed annually on 19 November. In Australia, AMHF coordinates the national theme and uses the day as an opportunity to recognise contributions, elevate good practice and connect organisations working to improve outcomes for men and boys.

“International Men’s Day is an opportunity to shift the spotlight onto the people and organisations doing the work year in, year out,” said AMHF CEO Glen Poole. “The response to this campaign showed how much it means for groups to feel seen and appreciated, particularly those powered by volunteers who are supporting men and boys in very practical, often unseen ways across Australia.”

"We started with the aim of acknowledging 100 groups, but there are many more in the field working to improve the lives of men and boys, and they all deserve support and acknowledgement for the amazing work they do".
